Happy New Year

I had to upgrade the blog and now it is linked to my personal gmail account. Therefore, Janice no longer has the password to access and update the blog. I still come by the blog now and then, so I would update it once in a while.

However, if you would like to have more news and updates on 6C06, then pls feel free to create another class blog.

Happy Chinese New Year and may the year bring joy, peace and success to all of you. Good to see that many of you have assumed leadership positions in FMSS. Keep up the good work.

Secondary School Posting

Janice has the password now. It was given to her yesterday (21 Dec 2006).

35 of you will be going to FMSS. I have a feeling that this number may increase to 36, but I can't be sure. The rest are posted to SCGS, MGSS, ACS(I), NUS High, SJI and Nan Hua High.

All the best to all of you, wherever you may be posted to. And as Mr Chua says, shine!

God bless.

Farewell

All the best to everyone. You are all precious in God's sight. Shine wherever you go and always look to contribute to society.

These qualities are necessary for success:
1) Submission to God and authority - Meditate on His Word daily
2) Integrity - Be upright and honest and uphold moral principles
3) Care and concern - Love those around you, encourage them when need be
4) Commitment, diligence - Strive for excellence without giving up

Finally, let's take a vote.
1) To keep this blog, but we may need Granny or Hamster to update it regularly.
2) To close down this blog.

God bless you all.

Captain's Ball

I am so proud of 6C. Good in studies. Good in sports. And.... Some very good character traits shone forth during the Captain's Ball game too. =)

I saw Weng Shian and some other boys taking charge and being very fair in forming the "all-star" team for the semi-finals. Normally, boys disallow girls from playing, but I saw that the girls who wanted to play were given the opportunity to do so.

Quite a number of boys also came to offer their help to set up the courts before the game started. I would have been more pleased if these pupils had also offered to clear the courts after the game.

6C also persevered even though 6B scored the first two goals in the finals.

Another observation worthy of mention is that 6C cheered loudly and sincerely for all the other teams too! Such wonderful behaviour. Even though 6G lost to 6C in the semi-finals, 6G cheered loudly for 6C too, showing their support for 6C.

I felt very happy with the whole game. I hope you did too.

Blessed Children's Day

Blessed Children's Day to you. Hope you enjoyed yourself and that you liked the gifts.

Do use the weekend to catch up on your work. Revise the notes that I have given and relook at the worksheets that you have done.

All the best to all of you. I am praying very hard for you.

Prelims

Actually, I wrote a post on the prelims a few days ago, but everything got wiped out due to technical glitches.

Anyway...........

Congratulations to the 4 who got A* for Maths - Kev, Je Shen, Zhi Yang and Zheng Cong! Kev, we can call you a Maths expert now. Keep up the good work, all!
Joel improved the most - from quite a low B to 90.5! Way to go, Joel!
Lorr and Shaun, you both did well too with 90.
I'm also very proud of those who improved by more than 10 marks (e.g. Rachel, Vanessa etc).
I hope that everyone else will aim to improve by one grade in the PSLE (i.e. A to A*, B to A and so on). If that happens, we will have 29 A*s!
You can do it!
Btw, the average mark for Maths is 77.4.

I felt that you could do better in English. There were mistakes in tenses, spelling and punctuations that could definitely have been avoided. Do put in your best effort. I've coaxed you several times to highlight the clues and keywords. That has helped my previous batches of students, and I am sure it will help you too.

Anyway, congratulations to the top few for English - Joshua, Michele, Huiling and Zhi Yang.
To the rest of you, do aim for A* for English in the PSLE.
Master Yoda's advice: Your English-speaking background is your secret weapon. Use it to conquer your "foes" and claim victory in the "battle". Do remain humble and teachable even as you "train". Listen to the masters' advice. May the force be with you.

May the Lord bless you and keep you and make His face shine on you as you continue to prepare for the PSLE.

All the Best - PSLE Oral!

Bless you all! Keep calm and composed, speak confidently and may His joy and wisdom be on you. This is the big one - so give it your best shot! Keeping all of you in prayer.
